Families

For through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household. (Eph 2:18–19)

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Courtney Porter, Children's Ministry Director

Children are a priority at Heritage! We are dedicated to encouraging their spiritual growth through diverse programs and fostering at-home discipleship, guided by Deuteronomy 6:5-7. Our goal for children’s ministries is to partner with parents to instill a love for the Lord, aiming to raise children who embrace His teachings in their daily lives. With the core objective of sharing the gospel, our ministry seeks to empower and equip parents with tools for at-home discipleship. Join us as we work together to lay a strong spiritual foundation for our children.

We provide classes for children from infancy to 5th grade, during both our Sunday School hour and our 10am worship service. Our Sunday School hour includes two classes—one for younger children and another for older ones. During our Worship Service, infant and toddler care starts at 10am, while classes for preschool through 5th grade begin after a time of corporate worship. Upon announcement, classes will meet in the sanctuary foyer, with parents picking up their children at their designated classrooms after Worship Service.

Our dedicated volunteers include parents, professional teachers, and fellow church members with a passion for children. Volunteers receive training and undergo a comprehensive background check process.

Our desire as a ministry is to grow lifelong disciples of Jesus through a partnership with parents and TeamKID is designed for Kids in Discipleship! Children will be engaged in age-appropriate Bible activities, opportunities for scripture memorization, and real-life application. Captivating missions videos introduce children to the world of missions from a young age. Join TeamKID for an exciting program that fosters spiritual growth and learning while having fun with peers.

With a focus on our children’s safety, we utilize Check-Ins to precisely monitor classroom attendance and medical needs. Accessible through the Church Center app, this user-friendly tool allows parents to communicate allergies, contact details, and even generate additional tags for diaper bags. Security tags are conveniently printed in the Educational Foyer. Providing both protection and tailored care, Check-Ins fosters a secure atmosphere while offering parents seamless navigation and customization to meet their child’s specific needs.

YOUTH MINISTRY

Pastor Alex Tufano, Youth Pastor

Focusing on students in grades 6-12, our youth ministry seeks to partner with parents and the church to develop resilient disciples. Our goal is that students’ faith lasts beyond their time in our ministry. We seek to foster intergenerational relationships between students, parents, youth leaders, and others within our church community. Students are invited to join us weekly for Youth Group and Sunday School, as well as periodic retreats and events. We hope our ministry is a place where your student feels welcomed, can build relationships with others, and grow in their faith.

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for Sunday School at 9 am, from September to June. We rotate through various topical studies, with a seminar/discussion style format. We also believe the Sunday morning worship service at Heritage is an essential piece of our students’ growth, and encourage them to be full participants.

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for Youth Group from 6:30-8:00 on Wednesday nights, from September to June. We alternate large group weeks, where we’re all together for games and teaching, and small group weeks, where we break out by grade (middle school/high school) and gender (guys/girls) for relationship building, a time of study, and prayer and encouragement for one another. We have a team of youth leaders who are invested in caring for and building relationships with the students.

We have several events outside our Sunday and Wednesday meetings throughout the year. These include retreats, fun events like bowling and hikes, and service projects. We also have events and Youth Group throughout the summer that are similar and different than our school-year gatherings. The best place to find up-to-date info about our events is on the Church Center app.

PARENTS

We recognize that parents are the strongest spiritual influence in their children’s lives, with a God-given responsibility to disciple their children in the Lord. To support parents in their discipleship efforts, our children’s and youth ministries seek to encourage, equip, and empower parents. We provide digital and print resources, parent discussion groups on relevant topics, and regular communications to keep parents informed about ministry events and teaching series. Check out our Church Center app for up-to-date information.

MINISTRYSAFE

At Heritage, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of both children and their caregivers. Through MinistrySafe, our volunteers undergo a thorough background check process and comprehensive training, cultivating a secure atmosphere for all.
